Selecting a 2026 bike tour that fits your level of cycling
In terms of selecting the best bike tour to fit where you are now, our tours that fall in the Leisurely category are probably the best bet for first-time bike tour travelers. These tours feature manageable mileage and elevation, a relaxed itinerary as well as all the other hallmarks that we provide for all our bike tours. Here are the 2026 tours to consider:
Florida: Forgotten Coast
This unassuming stretch of north Florida’s Gulf Coast will put you at ease with its flat terrain that is on a mixture of paved bike paths and roads, low daily mileage and the chance to see some spectacular beaches. What a great way to take a break from winter. Off the bike, relax on a river cruise or cool off with a dip in a freshwater spring.
Maryland Eastern Shore—Southern
This popular hub-and-spoke tour has you stay at the same hotel the entire tour—so forget about packing and unpacking each day. Ride on paved bike paths and quiet roads that are very flat. Still, you pack a lot of sightseeing in four days, with visits to the Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge and the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum.
Massachusetts Island Hopper: Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard
This perennial favorite is entirely on traffic-free, paved bike paths. Lighthouses, ferry rides, cranberry bogs and stunning beaches punctuate these easygoing routes.
Massachusetts: Cape Cod Rail Trails
This recently refreshed tour features traffic-free cycling on the Shining Sea Bike Path, the Cape Cod Rail Trail and other bike paths, with just a few miles of quiet back road riding. The diversity of these paths will surprise you. You’ll see why Cape Cod is a place that beach-loving cyclists want to return to year after year.
Niagara Falls Pathways
Seeing Niagara Falls from both the American and Canadian sides is the cherry on top of this delightful tour, which is almost entirely on level, paved bike paths. Riding along the swirling green waters of the mighty Niagara River is energizing, while a stroll along the shops and eateries of Niagara-on-the-Lake is a great way to unwind.
Italy: Bike and Barge – Mantua to Venice
Our Italy tour is a great introduction to international bike touring. Not only is the leisurely pedaling all on flat bike paths and roads, but you stay on the same cozy barge the entire week. Plus your knowledgeable local guides will bookend the group during daily rides, ensuring that no rider is ever left behind.
