Greece Bike Tour Itinerary

DAY 1: We begin with an early-morning shuttle from Athens to the Peloponnese peninsula, including a stop at the historic Corinth Canal. After arriving in the village of Krokees, we’ll enjoy a relaxed introductory ride through the countryside.

Our route winds toward the coast, finishing in Gytheio, a lively seaside town known for its colorful neoclassical buildings and maritime history. After settling into our hotel in the town center, we’ll gather for our welcome dinner. The evening is yours to explore, stroll the harbor, wander the charming streets, or walk out to the small island just offshore to soak in your first views of coastal Greece. 14.5 miles ±900’.

DAY 2: Today, we follow the coast east, riding through olive groves and along quiet roads with sweeping views of the Laconian Gulf. The rolling terrain offers a perfect balance of riding and sightseeing.

Our destination is the seaside village of Elea, an area with roots dating back to Mycenaean times. The small fishing harbor, whitewashed homes, and the Church of Agios Nikolaos give this village a timeless, authentic feel. 25 miles ±1003’.

DAY 3: Today’s ride brings a mix of gentle rollers and a rewarding climb, followed by a satisfying descent toward the coast. We’ll finish our ride near Pounta, where we’ll enjoy a light picnic before boarding the ferry to Elafonisos Island.

Often described as home to Greece’s most beautiful beaches, Elafonisos is famous for Simos Beach, where two bays shimmering with turquoise water are separated by a soft white sand beach. Relax with a coffee, swim, or simply take in the views before we shuttle to Neapoli, a charming coastal town. 43 miles ±2560’.

DAY 4: A short but stunning coastal ride brings us to Monemvasia, one of Greece’s most unforgettable destinations.

You’ll have plenty of time to explore this medieval fortress town carved into a massive sea rock and reached by a single causeway. Wander cobblestone lanes, discover Byzantine churches, and if you’re up for it, hike to the Acropolis of Monemvasia, where panoramic views stretch endlessly over the Aegean Sea.

We’ll have dinner tonight inside the castle walls, in a truly memorable experience. 17 miles ±1150’.

DAY 5: Leaving Monemvasia behind, we ride into the rugged beauty of the Parnon mountain range, experiencing a quieter, more remote side of the Peloponnese. Our lunch stop is at Limin Gerakas, a dramatic natural fjord-like bay tucked along the coast, where we’ll enjoy fresh seafood at a traditional waterfront taverna.

The ride continues to Kyparissi, a peaceful village nestled beneath towering cliffs. Once accessible only by sea, Kyparissi has retained its secluded charm. Tonight’s dinner features classic Greek souvlaki, a simple, satisfying, and perfect meal after a day on the bike. 35 miles ±3260’.

DAY 6: This is a favorite ride for many guests. The route from Kyparissi to Leonidio combines dramatic coastline, quiet roads, and postcard-worthy scenery.

We’ll stop at Fokianos Beach, a hidden gem with limited cell service, an ideal place to unplug, swim, and enjoy lunch by the water. From here, you can choose to shuttle or continue riding the final climb and descent into Leonidio. If you’re feeling energetic, there’s an optional hike to the historic windmills overlooking town, offering sweeping views of the valley and sea. 34 miles ±3608’.

DAY 7: We roll north along the coast today, enjoying continuous views of the Argolic Gulf as the road hugs the cliffs above the water. Our ride ends in Paralio Astros, a lively seaside town with a medieval castle and beautiful beaches.

We shuttle to Nafplio, often called the most romantic city in Greece and the country’s first modern capital. Spend the afternoon wandering marble streets, browsing artisan shops, or enjoying a sunset drink by the harbor. 32 miles ±1997’.

DAY 8: Our final ride takes us inland toward Ancient Epidaurus, with a special stop at a local olive grove for an olive oil tasting, sampling some of Greece’s finest “liquid gold.”

We’ll visit the UNESCO World Heritage site, the Ancient Theater of Epidaurus, celebrated for its remarkable acoustics and elegant design. After lunch, we shuttle back to Nafplio for a relaxed afternoon before gathering for our farewell dinner, celebrating an unforgettable journey through the Peloponnese. 21 miles ±1917’.

DAY 9: After breakfast, we transfer back to the Athens airport, arriving by 12:00 pm. Adío, Καλό ταξίδι
