Quebec Bike Tour Itinerary

DAY 1: We’ll meet at our Burlington, Vermont hotel in the afternoon for an orientation and bike fitting at 2:00pm. Then we’ll take our bikes on the one-of-a-kind Island Line Trail. Built on the former Rutland Railroad’s Island Line, the rail trail features a unique 3-mile causeway into Lake Champlain with stunning views of the Adirondack Mountains. The ride is the perfect primer for what’s in store for us during the rest of the week! 29 miles ±874’.

DAY 2: Welcome to Canada! After crossing the Canadian border into Quebec’s Laurentian Mountains, we’ll stop for a light lunch and arrive in Mont-Laurier in time to check into our rooms and relax before dinner. 0 miles.

DAY 3: Today, we begin our point-to-point journey south on Le P’tit Train du Nord. This is the most remote and peaceful section of the trail, just trees, lakes, and birdsong. The paved trail meanders through lush forests and alongside glistening lakes. We’ll stop for a trail-side picnic before arriving at our welcoming quaint auberge just off the trail. 36 miles ±1501’.

DAY 4: Today’s ride begins on smooth pavement before shifting to crushed stone as we pass through quiet forests and small Quebec villages. Enjoy lunch at the charming, restored train station café in Labelle, always a favorite stop. The trail then follows streams and meadows into the bustling ski village of Mont-Tremblant where we’ll stay for the next two nights. 38 miles ±1450'.

DAY 5: We'll use the day to explore  our beautiful surroundings in the heart of the Laurentian Mountains, including the magnificent Parc National du Mont-Tremblant. Established in 1985, the national park has more than 400 lakes and streams, 40 species of mammals and 50 miles of hiking trails.

If you’re not up for one of the optional bike rides, you can stretch your legs with a nearby hike. You can also ride the gondola, swim in Lac Tremblant, take a thrilling ride on a zip line, or simply indulge in croissants and crêpes! 5 miles ±318’ or 19 miles ±1260’.

DAY 6: After breakfast, we’ll be back on our bikes to continue south. Le P’tit Train du Nord is a wide, paved trail through this section that winds through forested hills. A gentle morning climb takes us to the highest point on the rail trail before we start our smooth, rewarding descent. We’ll overnight just on the trail in the hamlet of Val-Morin. Dinner tonight will be catered at our private villa. If the weather allows, we’ll end the night with an outdoor bonfire. 38 miles +1730’/-1490’.

DAY 7: Our final ride is a glorious easy run through pine-scented woods and alongside sparkling rivers. The trail gradually flattens as we roll into St. Jérôme, where the iconic iron arch marks the ceremonial end of the P’tit Train du Nord.

We’ll celebrate our journey with a cheerful farewell lunch before our shuttle returns us to Burlington. We’ll stop at the Montreal airport by 2:00pm, the Burlington airport by 4:00pm and finally our starting hotel by 4:30pm. 24 miles +785’/-1499’.
