The first payment of $2,000 is due December 1, 2011 by check and $1,000 of that payment is nonrefundable and nontransferable. The balance of the trip fee is due by check July 1, 2012.

DISCOUNTS: Sign up for any shorter, domestic WomanTours trip in 2012 at the same time you register for the 2012 Pacific Coast and receive a discount of 10% off the shorter tour.

CANCELLATION & REFUNDS: The $300 registration fee is nonrefundable and nontransferable, but holds your space. Our cross-country and epic tours usually fill to capacity.

TRIP INSURANCE: We will provide you with a source for trip cancellation/interruption insurance. We strongly recommend insurance, especially for a trip of this magnitude.

TOUR DETAILS: Help on training, transportation, packing, and an itinerary will be sent upon receipt of your registration fee. We will also mail you a series of Prep Talk newsletters to help you prepare for the trip.

Join us for our newest epic bike tour along the Pacific Coast of the United States. This cross-country bike tour for women only is a month-long, fully supported trip. A hot shower, home-cooked meal and a warm bed will await you every night. Ride at your own pace and enjoy a rest day every week.

This tour comes to you thanks to the work of Carolyn and Jean and their personal quest to get it on the WomanTours calendar. Then Denise put the finishing touches on the schedule, hotel choices and cue sheets. We promise you another tour of a lifetime.

Our Pacific Coast tour will follow some of the most scenic coastline in the world through the states of Washington, Oregon, and California. This cycling adventure combines beautiful scenery through national parks, national recreation areas, national historic monuments, numerous state parks, museums, forts, lighthouses, small towns and bustling cities, including San Francisco.

We’ll explore rugged coastline and white sandy beaches, flat stretches, gently rolling hills and steep climbs. Our route includes a mix of scenic byways, quiet back roads, ferry rides, state-spanning bridges, and bike paths.

In general, the wind blows from the north in good weather and from the south in bad weather, so we’ll hope for good weather the entire way. With any luck, we’ll see such wildlife as sea otters, sea lions, brown pelicans, herons, egrets, elk, and deer. All in all, it will be an adventure you will never forget.

We give you descriptive, “can't get lost” maps by Adventure Cycling and our own detailed cue sheets to show you the way.

We stay in motels with beds and hot showers every night. No camping for us!

We designed this tour with women over 50 in mind, but women of any age are welcome. Everyone rides at her own pace. Our supportive atmosphere for and by women helps each of us accomplish more than we ever thought capable of.

There will be 4 rest days over the course of the trip. We’ve scheduled these at scenic stops where there is an opportunity to explore the area. We strongly believe in giving everyone time to see the natural wonders of our country and to relax to keep our bodies healthy and strong.
